Epidural anesthesia is used for lumbar disc surgery in some institutions. Besides the general advantages of regional anesthesia, this technique allows the neurosurgeon to have verbal contact with the patient, which helps in precise localization of the nerve root compression. Epidural anesthesia is a safe and efficacious procedure for lumbar disc surgery, which also provides excellent and long lasting postoperative analgesia. We report a case of lumbar discectomy under epidural anesthesia in a patient with asthma bronchiale. We aimed to discuss and reconsider the use of epidural anesthesia in lumbar disc surgery.

Epidural anestezi bazı merkezlerde lomber disk cerrahisinde uygulanmaktadır. Rejyonel anestezinin genel avantajlarının yanı sıra, bu teknik beyin cerrahının hasta ile sözlü iletişim kurarak sinir basısının olduğu bölgeyi saptamasında yardımcıdır. Lomber disk cerrahisinde epidural anestezi uygulaması, iyi sonuçlar ve uzun süreli postoperatif analjezi sağlayan emniyetli ve yararlı bir yöntemdir. Biz lomber disk cerrahisi için epidural anestezi uygulanan bronşiyal astımı olan bir olguyu sunmaktayız. Lomber disk cerrahisinde epidural anestezi uygulamasını tartışmayı ve hatırlatmayı amaçlıyoruz.
