Defects over the calcaneus can be best covered by transposing the flexor digitorum brevis muscle. We had a patient with a chronk ulcer and osteomyelitis on his left calcaneus for two years. He recieved a long conservative and one surgical treatment, but all of them had failed. We also tried conservative treatment for six months, but it was not successful. At the end we excised osteomyelised part of the cakancus through a mid-planter incision and transposed m. flexor digitorum brevis over the defect. Patient recovered without any complication. In three years follow -up, he can walk perfectly without any complaint.

Kalkaneus üzerindeki geniş defektler en iyi m. flexor digitorum brevisin transposuzyonu ile kapatılabilirler. İki senedir kalkaneus üzerinde kronik yara ve kemikte osteomiyelitten yakınan hasta tüm konservatif ve cerrahi tedavilere rağmen şifa bulamamıştı. Biz de ilk altı ay konservatif tedavi denedik ama başarılı sonuç alamadık. Sonunda midplanter insizyonla girerek kalkaneusun osteomiyelitli kısmını çıkardık ve meydana gelen defekt üzerine m. Flexor digitorum brevis'i transpoze ettik. Hasta komplikasyonsuz iyileşti. Üç senedir takibimizde olan hasta önemli bir şikâyeti olmaksızın yürümektedir.
