POTTER'S SEQUENCE: AUTOPSY FINDINGS

A twenty-one year-old primipara patient was diagnosed as having oligohydramnios, breech presentation, and signs of multiple anomalies (cystic kidney, etc.) through ultrasonography and was referred to the Prenatal Diagnosis Centre. However, the patient did not apply for counselling and sought advice at 35th-36th weeks' gestation with indications of abortion of a male fetus (APGAR O-2). On the basis of clinical and autopsy findings, we considered the case having Potter's sequence with multiple congenital anomalies, in which vascular in sufficiency due to fetal compression and asphyxic-hypoxic death due to pulmonary hypoplasia developed. We present the case with regard to pathogenetic relations and consideration of congenital anomalies.

POTTER'S SEQUENCE: OTOPSİ OLGUSU

Yirmi bir yaşında primipar anneye 20. hafta USG'sinde oligohidramnios, makat gelişi, multiple anomali (kistik böbrek v.b.) bulguları ile Prenatal Tanı Merkezi konsültasyonu önerilmiş, ancak takibe uymayan anneye 35-36. hafta tekrar başvurduğunda sectio endikasyonu ile APGAR (0-2) erkek fetus doğurtulmuştur. Olgumuz; klinik ve otopsi bulguları ile tipik "Potter's Sequence" multiple konjenital anomali olgusudur. Fetal kompresyona bağlı vasküler yetmezlik ve pulmoner hipoplaziye bağlı asfiktik-hipoksik ölüm gelişmiştir. Tek lokalize organogenez bozukluğuna bağlı sekonder etkilerle oluşan anomaliler içeren Potter's Sequence (PS) olgumuzu, patogenetik ilişki ve konjenital anomaliler terminolojisi yönünden irdelemeyi amaçladık.
