Diabetes Mellituslu Olgularda Total Antioksidan Status Ve Süperoksid Dismutaz Düzeyleri

Bu çalışma diabetes mellitus (DM)’ta diyabet tipi, süresi, tedavi şekli, metabolik regülasyon ve komplikasyonlar ile süperoksid dismutaz (SOD), total antioksidan status (TAS) ilişkisini araştırmak amacıyla yapıldı. Bu amaçla 62 diyabetik ve 31 sağlıklı olguda TAS, SOD, früktozamin (FA), hemoglobin A1c (HbA1c), açlık kan şekeri (AKŞ), kan üre azotu (BUN), kreatinin, kolesterol, trigliserid ve yüksek dansiteli lipoprotein kolesterol (HDL-C) çalışıldı. Diyabetik grupta ortalama SOD değeri kontrol grubuna kıyasla anlamlı olarak düşük bulunurken (p<0.001), ortalama TAS değerlerinde anlamlı farklılık saptanmadı (p>0.05). Hem kontrol hem diyabetik grupta SOD ile TAS değerleri arasında korelasyon saptanmadı. İyi-kötü kontrollü gruplar arasında ve komplikasyonlu-komplikasyonsuz gruplar arasında TAS ve SOD farklılıkları saptanmadı (p>0.05). Diyabet süresine göre TAS ve SOD farklılığı ve korelasyonu saptanmadı (p>0.05). Tedavi şekline göre TAS ve SOD değerlerinde anlamlı farklılık saptanmadı. Tip 1 ve tip 2 diyabetiklerde TAS ve SOD parametrelerinde anlamlı farklılık gözlenmedi (p>0.05); ancak HbA1c ile FA, AKŞ ile FA ve HbA1c ile AKŞ arasında korelasyon saptandı (p<0.01). Bu çalışmada diabetes mellituslu grupta kontrol grubu ile karşılaştırıldığında daha düşük SOD düzeyleri bulundu, ancak TAS düzeylerinde anlamlı farklılık bulunmadı. Bu çalışmadan elde edilen veriler sonucunda tip 1 ve tip 2 DM’lularda cinsiyet farkı olmaksızın SOD seviyelerinin düşük bulunduğu saptandı ve diabetes mellitusun izlenmesinde SOD’nin yararlı bir parametre olabileceği kanısına varıldı.

Total Antioksidan Status And The Level Of Superoksid Dismutase In The Patients With Deabetes Mellitus

This study was done to investigate the relationship between the level of superoxide dismutase (SOD), total antioxidant status (TAS) and type of diabetes, diabetes duration, metabolic regulation and complications of diabetes. For this purpose, we studied SOD, TAS, fructosamine (FA), glucose, HbA1c, blood urea nitrogen (BUN), cholesterol, trigliseride and HDL-Cholesterol in 31 non-diabetics and 62 diabetic subjects. In diabetic group mean SOD level was significantly lower than the control group (p<0.01). There was no significant difference in TAS levels between diabetics and control group (p>0.05). There was no correlation between SOD and TAS in both diabetics and controls (p>0.05). There was also no correlation between SOD, TAS, HbA1c, FA and glucose levels. There were no established significant differences in the levels of SOD and TAS between good and bad metabolic control group (p>0.05). There were also no significant differences between with and without complications groups (p>0.05). In diabetic group, according to years and treatment of diabetes, there were no significant differences in SOD and TAS values. There were no significant differences in SOD and TAS in type 1 and type 2 diabetics (p>0.05) but there was significant correlation between HbA1c-FA, HbA1c-glucose and FA-glucose (p<0.01). In this study SOD levels were lower in diabetics group than control group, but there were no found significant differences in TAS levels. From data obtained in this study we determined that SOD levels were lower in type 1 and type 2 diabetics not related with sex, and we concluded that SOD levels might be a useful parameter for diabetes mellitus.
