Congenital malformations of the esophagus

Congenital anomalies of the esophagus comprise a diverse group of malformations. They originate from the defective budding, differentiation and separation of the primitive foregut, usually during the 6th or 7th week of the embryonic period. Diagnoses of these malformations are based on clinical suspicion, physical examination, and necessary radiological and endoscopic examinations. The principal of treatment lies on surgical resection and/or reconstruction of the esophagus.

Konjenital özofagus malformasyonları

Özofagusun konjenital anomalileri geniş bir deformite grubunu içermektedir. Bu malformasyonlar, genellikle embriyolojik hayatın 6-7. haftaları arasında, primitif ön bağırsağın tomurcuklanma, başkalaşma veya ayrılma evresindeki defekt sonucu ortaya çıkmaktadır. Tanısı için öncellikle klinik şüphe ve detaylı bir fizik muayene, ardından da gerekli radyolojik ve endoskopik görüntüleme yöntemleri kullanılabilir. Tedavinin temelinde ise malformasyonlu özofagus segmentinin rezeksiyonu ve/veya rekonstrüksiyonu yer almaktadır.
