In our Country about fifteen thousands people ski at the weekend in winter in some ski center. We observed the skiers, on the ski areas and we made interviews with injured skiers, in some ski centers to determine the reasons of the ski injuries. In our investigations, we found the reason of the ski injuries as follows: Poor adjustment of ski boot bindings, lack of education and experience of skiers, unsuitable ski length and ski boots, exhaustion (greatly fatigued), sloping and irregular ski areas, fartness (high speed), poor snow condition such as icy, hard snow, wet snow, not to obey skiing and Federation of International Ski rules, poor physical fitness and being untrained. As a result of our investigation we determined necessary precautions.

44 patients, have been treated with Dick method which is extraperitoneal double stranded suture technic in the repair of the incisional hernias. The patients have been followed about 58 months. Only one of them in this group (%2.3) has been relapsed. Mortality rate was zero (%0). In Conclusion; Dick Metod has advantage in the incisional hernia repairing, such as without opening the peritoneum, usefulness in all types of the suture lines and all types of defects and also cost effective for the patient.
