Pattern VEP (Visually Evoked Potentials) Normal Values

INTRODUCTION: The aim of this study was to find normal values of pattern visually evoked potentials (VEP) in the electrophysiology laboratory of our clinic.
METHODS: Visually evoked response test was performed in 140 eyes of 70 healthy subjects with full visual acuity. Results were evaluated in 3 age groups (8–19, 20–39, 40 and above). Pattern VEP test was used to record 2 different-sized patterns in order to identify different levels of visual acuity. Latency and amplitude values were recorded of N75 and P100 waves for both patterns.
RESULTS: In our study, average latency value of N75 wave in PVEP 1º pattern was 71.25±5.24 ms for the 8–19 group, 69.56±4.18 ms for the 20–39 group, and 71.74±5.42 ms for the 40 and above group. Average latency value of P100 wave with 1º pattern was 104.86±4.04 ms for the 8–19 group, 100.5±3.52 ms for the 20–39 group, and 105.32±7.14 ms for the 40 and above group. Average amplitude value of N75-P100 wave with 1º pattern was 20.5±7.42 µV for the 8–19 group, 11.27±3.52 µV for the 20–39 group, and 10.08±4.12 µV for the 40 and above group.
DISCUSSION AND CONCLUSION: We identified normal values of PVEP test in the electrophysiology laboratory of our clinic. Results were analyzed for the 3 different age groups, and the study was completed by identifying the effects of latency, amplitude, gender, and analyzed eye to the study.

Pattern VEP (Desen Görsel Uyarılmış Potansiyel) Normal Değerlerimiz

GİRİŞ ve AMAÇ: Kliniğimiz elektrofizyoloji laboratuvarında uygulanan desen görsel uyarılmış yanıt (pattern VEP) testi normal değerlerinin bulunması amaçlandı.
YÖNTEM ve GEREÇLER: Sağlıklı ve görme keskinliği tam olan, 70 normal hastanın 140 gözüne desen görsel uyarılmış yanıt testi uygulandı. Sonuçlar üç yaş grubu halinde (8–19; 20–39; 40 ve üzeri yaş) değerlendirildi. Pattern VEP (PVEP) testi ile değişik düzeylerdeki görme keskinliğini objektif olarak saptamak için iki farklı büyüklükteki desenle kayıt alındı. Her iki desen için N75 ve P100 dalgalarının latans ve amplitüd değerleri kaydedildi.
BULGULAR: Çalışmamızda PVEP 1° desenindeki N75 dalgasının ortalama latans değeri 8–19 yaş aralığı için 71.25±5.24 ms, 20–39 yaş aralığı için 69.56±4.18 ms, 40 ve üzeri yaş grubu için 71.74±5.42 ms idi. 1°’lik desenle elde edilen P100 dalgasının ortalama latans değeri 8–19 yaş için 104.86±4.04 ms, 20–39 yaş için 100.5±3.52 ms, 40 ve üzeri yaş için 105.32±7.14 ms idi. 1°’lik desenle elde edilen N75-P100 dalgasının ortalama amplitüd değeri 8-19 yaş için 20.5±7.42 µV, 20–39 yaş için 11.27±3.52 µV, 40 ve üzeri yaş için 10.08±4.12 µV olarak ölçüldü.
TARTIŞMA ve SONUÇ: Kliniğimiz elektrofizyoloji laboratuvarında uygulanan PVEP testi normal değerleri kendi özgün ortamında belirlenmiştir. Sonuçlar üç farklı yaş grubu için değerlendirilmiş, latans ve amplitüd değerleri cinsiyet ve ölçüm yapılan göz değişkenlerinin teste olan etkisi belirlenerek çalışma tamamlanmıştır.
