Fetal ovarian cyst: antenatal diagnosis and management

Fetal ovarian cysts represent 3%–6% of all fetal intraabdominal masses. The diagnosis is made usually during the 3rd trimestr. The clinician should be aware of the possible complications such as rupture of the cyst or torsion during the antenatal surveillance. Timing and mode of delivery of fetuses with ovarian cysts depends on the usual obstetric causes, unless there is a complication with the need of emergent intervention in order to preserve fetal ovaries. During the postnatal period, the diameter and echogenicity of the cyst is determinative for he management. In this study, an antenatally diagnosed case with a fetal ovarian cyst is presented. The relevant literature with possible management options are rewieved.

Fetal over kisti: antenatal tanı ve yönetim

Fetal over kistleri, tüm fetal abdominal kitlelerin %3-%6’sını oluşturur. Genellikle 3. trimestrda tanı alırlar. Antenatal takiplerinde klinisyen, kist rüptürü ve torsiyon gibi olası komplikasyonlar yönünden dikkatli olmalıdır. Doğum zamanı ve şekli, kiste bağlı gelişebilecek, overi korumak amacı ile acil müdahale gerektiren durumlar dışında olağan obstetrik nedenlere bağlıdır. Postnatal yaklaşımda ise kist boyutu ve ekojenitesi tedavi planında yol göstericidir. Bu çalışmada, fetal over kistinin antenatal tanısı ve postpartum takibi sunulmuş ve güncel literatürler gözden geçirilmiştir.
