BATIN DUVARINDA HETEROTOPİK OSSİFİKASYON: OLGU SUNUMU

Laparotomi sırasında kemik dokunun insizyon skarına ekimi ile gelişen heterotopik ossifikasyon laparotominin nadir komplikasyonlarındandır. Semptomatik olan hastalarda kitlenin eksizyonu önerilmektedir. Bu yazıda 12 ay önce akut pankreatit nedeniyle göbek üstü orta hat insizyonuyla öpere edilen 69 yaşında bir erkek hasta prezente edilmektedir. Hastanın ağrıları nedeniyle yapılan ultrasonografisinde insizyonel herni izlenmesi sonrasında herni tamiri amacıyla öpere edilmiş, ancak peroperatuar 10x4x2 cm boyutlarında kemik yapısıyla karşılaşılmış ve total eksizyon uygulanmıştır. Patolojik incelemesinde kitlenin heterotopik ossifikasyon olduğu izlenmiştir. Bu olgu ile insizyonların seyrek görülen bu ilginç komplikasyonunun tanı ve tedavisindeki ayrıntıların incelenmesi amaçlanmıştır.

HETEROTOPIC OSSIFICATION UNDER ABDOMINAL WALL: CASE REPORT

Heterotopic ossification is a rare complication of laparotomy occurs secondary to the seeding of bone particles to the incision. Total excision is the procedure of the treatment if it is symptomatic. In this paper, a patient who was operated for acute pancreatitis via a midline incision 12 months before the admission is presented. Ultrasound examination was performed for the evaluation of severe incisional pain, revealed an incisional hernia. The patient underwent an operation aiming hernia repair, however a 10x4x2 cm in-diameter mass, which was totally excised, was observed at the time of surgery. The pathological examination of the specimen revealed a piece of mature bone (heterotopic ossification). The aim of this paper is to present the details of the diagnosis and treatment of this interesting entity.
